Lausanne offers accommodation to suit everybody’s taste. You’ll find a great selection of hotels in a variety of price categories from campsites, youth hostels, bed & breakfasts or luxurious hotels. Lausanne offers beds in a wide range of styles, categories and services. Since hotel capacities tend to get tight during the summer, we recommend that you make your reservation ahead of time.

Lausanne and its top hotels are a favourite travel destination of the wealthy. The “Beau-Rivage Palace” is one of the most luxurious addresses in Lausanne. Built in 1861 and surrounded by a spectacular garden landscape, this 5* hotel breathes the spirit of Old Europe. The rooms come in different styles (mostly French Louis style) and many of them are equipped with private balconies overlooking Lake Geneva. This place simply defines luxury. “Château d’Ouchy” is another top-address in best location if you like your Lausanne vacation to be luxurious and elegant. Built around the turn of the 20th  century, this castle-like hotel offers comfort, style, a nostalgic atmosphere and modern conveniences. From here, you have a magnificent view of the lake as well as of the Vaudois Alps.

Many of the hotels in Lausanne are in the mid-price range; such as the “Hôtel Continental” or “Hôtel Nash Carlton”. The Continental is ideally located close to the main railway station and in regard to its 4* rating quite affordable. It’s also modern and very up-to-date in its amenities. For a relaxed stay in Lausanne, you don’t need more than that. Another excellent 4* hotel close to the train station is the Best Western Mirabeau. The Nash Carlton, a small “boutique”-hotel, is in an excellent location. The white Mediterranean-style villa is just a few blocks up the hill from the lake-side part of Ouchy. It’s just a 10 minutes walk down to the waterfront where you find a number of restaurants and small shops. Other recommendable mid-price hotels are the 3* houses “Hôtel Elite” (midcity hotel) and “Hôtel Aulac” (Ouchy lakefront). Both are ideally located.

Young travelers with a low budget are recommended to stay at the “Jeunotel”, near the university, or at the “Lausanne Guest House”, which is in the center of town. Both places are hostel-like and very affordable.
