Los Angeles feeds on farm-to-table movement


When you visit Los Angeles, the farm-to-table restaurant trend is in season no doubt. Started in the 80’s by Wolfgang Puck at Spago Beverly Hills, on every menu that is worth its salt in Los Angeles, it pays tribute to local farmers in which the produce has been sourced.


If you are looking to taste some of the best in Southern California’s produce in the Santa Monica area, make reservations at the five-star Melisse, FIG in the Fairmont Santa Monica or Abbot Kinney’s small-plate oriented Gjelina.


If you want to dine where celebrities do, try SLS Hotel’s The Bazaar with Chef Jose Andres at the helm or Katsuya in Hollywood.  Pop up restaurants like Ludo Bites are always popular with the trendsetter crowds in LA as well. 


And to dine off a food truck is a must when you visit LA. In fact, Los Angeles is the birthplace of the food-on-wheels phenomenon. Simply search on Twitter to find where one is parking near you. Roy Choi’s Kogi BBQ, CoolHaus (best ice cream sandwiches), Bollywood Bites are all great ones to try, but if you miss those, there are hundreds of others roaming the streets of Los Angeles.
