Small island of PEI offers big choice in accommodations

Prince Edward Island is a land of diversity and choice, and that includes the Island’s accommodations.

There’s a home-away-from-home that will satisfy every taste and price range, from world-class resorts to charming bed-and-breakfasts and budget friendly hostels.

Many Island hotels and resorts are only a short stroll from the beach, including Stanhope Beach Resort, Dalvay-by-the Sea and Shaw’s Hotel.

Others feature easy access to some of P.E.I.’s finest golf courses such as Brudenell Resort, Crowbush Golf & Beach Resort and Mill River Resort.

Still others are located in the heart of historic Charlottetown like the Delta Prince Edward, The Great George, and Rodd Charlottetown.

Of course, no matter where you stay in P.E.I., you’re never far from the Island’s delicious, world-famous cuisine. Some of P.E.I.’s inns are themselves known as fine dining culinary destinations, for example The Inn at Bay Fortune. As well, the Island’s three spectacular coastal drives (North Cape Coastal Drive, Central Coastal Drive, Points East Coastal Drive) abound in charming bed-and-breakfasts, motels and cottage rentals.

If you want to be close to the liveliness of an active fishing wharf, check out the accommodations at Northport Pier Inn. If you prefer a waterfront setting with award winning gardens, consider Inn at St. Peters. If you want to be near a marina where you can go kayaking, para sailing and boating, check out Inn at the Pier.

And don’t forget the campgrounds on PEI. They offer superb camping facilities and programs for all ages and interests.

As you can see, there are accommodations to suit every taste – the list is endless. And no matter where you choose to stay on the Island, the scent of bay leaves, wild roses and fresh salt air is free!
