Switzerland – Europe at its most exclusive

Located in Western Europe, the landlocked territory of Switzerland is bordered by Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Lichtenstein. Because Switzerland comprises three linguistic and cultural regions, namely a French, German and an Italian one, this country offers a great variety in traditions, food, architecture and lifestyle.

In particular, Switzerland is known for its summer and winter sports regions, such as Zermatt, St. Moritz and Interlaken, which is also called the outdoor and action sport capital of Switzerland. Beyond après-ski chic and glamorous vacationing, the Alpine mountains feature impressive natural scenery and are a first-class area of recreation for everyone.

Swiss cities also add to the country’s exclusive reputation. As they offer you anything from picturesque sceneries, arts and culture and plenty of historic sights, they each will enrich your vacation with the most beautiful and diverse impressions. You’ll be surprised by the amazingly well preserved old-town of Bern, the capital of Switzerland. Also Lugano, Lausanne and Basel will enchant you with their gorgeous old-town districts, great scenery and amazing food; all of it accompanied by the typical laid-back Swiss mentality and a touch of exclusiveness - great to enjoy especially while you’re on vacation. The French-speaking city of Geneva, beautifully embedded between the nearby Alpine peaks, hilly terrain and Lake Geneva, will capture you with its scenery, arts and culture. Being home to over 200 governmental and non-governmental organizations, Geneva feels very cosmopolitan despite its manageable size. Zurich, a major banking city and probably the most vibrant Swiss town of all, is beautifully located by the water with a magnificent view of the snowcapped Alps. It offers a great mix of museums, concert halls, galleries and a flamboyant nightlife where your Swiss vacation will experience a different dynamic of metropolitan diversity.

Besides Switzerland’s breathtaking nature, picturesque towns and exclusive get-away destinations, let’s not forget what the Swiss are famous for and what you should definitely check out while being there: Chocolate, Cheese and Clocks! For one thing, Switzerland is the world’s capital of watch-making and home to exclusive brands such as Rolex, Omega and Patek Philippe. But if this kind of souvenir is not made for your budget and you prefer the culinary treats anyway, then make sure you taste and supply yourself with Swiss chocolate and cheese; both of which are said to be the best in the world.
